Mechanical Engineer

A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Mechanical Engineer I to support customer-facing engineering projects across a range of engineered product solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent or early‑career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience, technical mentorship, and exposure to real-world industrial applications.This role is onsite with one day a week remote and offers strong development potential within a collaborative Sales and Engineering environment.The OpportunityMechanical Engineers serve as a technical link between customers, Sales, and internal Engineering and Operations teams. This role supports projects from early application review through execution, applying engineering fundamentals—particularly thermodynamics—to practical product solutions.The position is well-suited for engineers who enjoy solving real customer problems, working cross-functionally, and growing into increased technical and customer responsibility over time.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport customer-facing application projects from concept through executionApply engineering fundamentals to evaluate requirements and support solution developmentCollaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teamsAssist with application reviews, technical documentation, and project coordinationSupport lab testing, test setup, and validation activitiesReview specifications, drawings, and customer requirementsParticipate in occasional customer site visitsLearn and support project execution best practices in an industrial environmentQualifications – Mechanical Engineer IEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline1-2 Years of experienceInternship or co-op experience involving industrial or thermodynamics-based products preferredExposure to project management concepts through coursework or internshipsTechnical SkillsSolidWorks (3D modeling)Basic familiarity with 2D drafting toolsFundamental understanding of:Industrial controlsElectrical schematics (PLCs, controllers, drives, HMIs)Basic test equipment and lab environmentsSkills & CompetenciesProfessional communication style with customers and internal teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsMechanically inclined with solid analytical abilitiesComfortable assisting with mechanical assemblies and testing activitiesStrong Excel skillsEffective problem solver with sound judgmentAble to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEager learner with strong initiative and work ethicCompensation$70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and time out of schoolWhy This RoleEntry point into a customer-facing engineering careerHands-on exposure to real industrial products and applicationsStrong collaboration between Sales, Applications, and EngineeringDirect visibility into how engineering decisions impact customersOpportunity for long-term growth into senior Application or Project Engineering roles
