This role bridges high-level 3D modeling with shop-floor mechanical troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering: Create custom 3D models, BOMs, and fabrication drawings (GD&T) for rotating machinery, power transmissions, and thermal systems. Analysis: Perform engineering calculations for torque, shaft loading, heat transfer, and drive sizing. Testing & Optimization: Lead equipment testing, assembly reviews, and commissioning; identify improvements for reliability and throughput. Continuous Improvement: Optimize manufacturing efficiency and support product innovation and root cause analysis. Project Coordination: Liaise with vendors and customers on technical requirements and provide startup support. Qualifications Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Experience: 5–10 years in heavy industrial machinery or custom OEM equipment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks/AutoCAD, rotating equipment, and power transmission systems. Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong background in weldments, machining, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Soft Skills: Proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects cross-functionally. Pluses: Experience with vacuum systems, ASME codes, or automation. Why Join?
