From initial concept through completion, Right Angle Engineering is committed to exceptional service, leveraging deep industry experience and up-to-date technical expertise to support clients and projects.Role Description The Professional Engineer will provide engineering design and technical oversight for structural and civil related projects in an on-site role based in Orem, UT. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation needed for SE, PE and EE stamp as well as ensuring designs comply with codes, standards, and permitting requirements. The role involves collaborating closely with other engineers, project managers, designers, and external stakeholders to clarify project scope, resolve technical issues, and support efficient project execution. The Professional Engineer will perform site evaluations as needed, review plan sets before submission, and contribute to quality assurance processes. This is a full-time position requiring consistent on-site presence and active participation in team workflows and project reviews.QualificationsStrong foundation in structural or civil engineering for structures, foundations retaining walls, roofs, and commercial and residential buildings. Experience with system design, load calculations, and code-compliant layouts.Proficiency with engineering and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms) and familiarity with relevant design standards and building/electrical codes.Experience preparing, reviewing, and sealing engineering documents, including permit plan sets, technical reports, and compliance documentation.Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams, clients, and permitting authorities, including clear technical documentation and explanations.Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant discipline (electrical, structural, or related field); ability to obtain additional state licensure is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical, civil, structural, or closely related field); advanced degree or specialized training in renewable energy is beneficial.Previous experience in structures, foundations, steel, concrete, wood, renewable energy projects, and familiarity with permitting processes and utility interconnection requirements, is a plus
