Utility Scale Solar Construction Manager

We are partnering with a leading renewable energy owner/operator to identify a Utility Scale Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of utility-scale solar projects across the United States. This position will be site-based, acting as the on-site representative for the long-term asset owner throughout the construction lifecycle.This organization is a well-established clean energy platform with a strong track record in developing, financing, and operating large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects nationwide. Backed by major institutional investment, the company has deployed billions of dollars into renewable energy assets and partners with some of the world’s largest corporations to support decarbonization and long-term sustainability goals.Role OverviewThe Utility Scale Construction Manager will have overall on-site responsibility for project execution, ensuring the EPC contractor delivers the project safely, on schedule, and in accordance with technical specifications and quality expectations. This individual will serve as the owner’s on-site representative and work closely with EPC contractors, subcontractors, utilities, inspectors, and project stakeholders to drive successful project completion.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain overall on-site responsibility for project execution and construction oversightMonitor EPC contractor schedule performance and construction progressEnsure compliance with all safety, quality, and project requirementsEvaluate workmanship and installation practices to confirm alignment with technical specifications, long-term performance expectations, and O&M standardsDirect corrective actions and rework where requiredOversee procurement activities and ensure the EPC contractor is effectively managing subcontractors, materials, and site logisticsSupport delivery coordination and offloading of Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE)Verify adherence to the Site Specific Safety Plan and ensure all contractor and subcontractor activities are properly documentedOversee utility interconnection activities and coordinate with utility providers to maintain schedule alignmentManage AHJ inspections and ensure permitting compliance is maintained throughout constructionResolve RFIs and coordinate with the Engineer of Record to address design discrepancies and field issuesEnsure sufficient qualified labor is maintained on-site to support schedule requirementsOrganize and facilitate project meetings with key stakeholdersProvide regular reporting, progress updates, inspections, and photographic documentation to the project teamConduct punch list inspections and oversee project closeout activitiesQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 7 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy construction or project engineeringStrong understanding of utility-scale solar construction processes and common project execution challengesExperience overseeing EPC contractors on large-scale renewable energy projectsOSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferredStrong knowledge of construction safety, QA/QC, scheduling, and field coordinationAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based construction environmentEngineering or Construction Management degree preferredNABCEP certification is a plus
