Regional Service Sales Manager - Utility and Industrial (Central US Region)
The OpportunityIn this role, you will manage and grow service sales for electrical power equipment and substation services across a defined region supporting electric utility and industrial customers. Your work focuses on helping customers maintain, modernize, and extend the life of critical power assets through service projects, upgrades, retrofits, and long‑term service agreements. You will work across the installed base to identify opportunities where service solutions improve reliability, safety, and operational performance.This position combines regional sales responsibility with people management. You will guide a service sales team while remaining directly engaged with customers, aligning operational needs, maintenance strategies, and regulatory requirements with appropriate service offerings. Working with technical specialists and internal partners, you will translate real‑world grid challenges—such as aging infrastructure and evolving operational demands—into practical service solutions that support long‑term power system reliability.Central US locations: TX, OK, MO, KS, CO, NE, IA, IL, WI, MN are preferred, however other locations within a reasonable vicinity to our key customer base will be considered.How You’ll Make An ImpactManage and grow regional service sales orders for electrical substation equipment and service projectsDevelop and execute service sales account plans to expand installed base coverage and long‑term service agreementsBuild customer relationships by understanding operational requirements, maintenance strategies, and applicable regulationsIdentify service opportunities through customer meetings, facility walk‑throughs, and installed base reviewsCoordinate service proposals, tenders, and follow‑up activities with internal teams and business unitsTranslate customer needs and feedback into appropriate service offerings and sales strategiesGuide and develop a regional service sales team with a focus on engagement, performance, and safetyUse CRM and reporting tools to manage sales activity, opportunity tracking, and data accuracyResponsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.Your BackgroundCandidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in sales, sales support, and/or service of power systems or solutions; orMaster’s degree with a minimum of 6+ years of experience in sales, sales support, and/or service of power systems or solutions; orAssociate degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales, sales support, and/or service of power systems or solutionsBachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline preferredExperience managing or guiding a service sales teamExperience working with electric substation equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers, including customer‑facing technical sales or solution presentationsFamiliarity with operations and maintenance practices for electric substation equipment and substation constructionExperience with substation construction and negotiating long‑term substation service contractsWillingness to travel up to 50%More About UsAt Hitachi Energy, you will gain exposure to advanced power system technologies while working alongside people who support the operation and service of critical energy infrastructure.Opportunities to work on innovative technologies that shape the future of energyA collaborative environment with experienced professionals across the power industryAccess to learning platforms and career development programsCompetitive health and retirement benefitsPaid leave and flexible work arrangementsIllinois Pay Transparency StatementIn compliance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act, the salary range for this position is $150,900.00 – $188,600.00. This range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that Hitachi Energy reasonably expects to offer for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid leave.Minnesota Pay Transparency StatementIn accordance with Minnesota pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $150,900.00 – $188,600.00. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation for this role at the time of posting and is not open‑ended. Compensation decisions are based on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and business considerations.
