Martis Camp isn’t just a place to work, it’s a place to belong, contribute, and be part of something truly remarkable.POSITION SUMMARY:The Family Barn Recreation Ambassador plays a vital role in creating a fun, welcoming, and safe environment for all members and guests at Martis Camp. Ambassadors support daily Family Barn operations and recreation programming across a variety of indoor and outdoor venues, including bowling, gymnasium, art loft, theater, gym, Nordic Shed, and surrounding parks and amenities throughout Martis Camp. This position blends hands-on guest service with operational excellence, ensuring every recreation area is clean, organized, and ready for member enjoyment. Ambassadors embody Martis Camp’s signature standard of hospitality by anticipating needs, maintaining equipment, and engaging members in a genuine and professional manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Member Service & ExperienceProvide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all members, guests, and colleaguesServe as a knowledgeable resource for Family Barn and Recreation programs, schedules, and amenitiesAssist members with reservations, equipment rentals, and general inquiriesPromote upcoming events, lessons, and experiences with enthusiasm and accuracyRespond promptly and courteously to member requests, ensuring all needs are met with Martis Camp standardsMaintains parks and recreation facilities throughout Martis Camp, keeping all spaces clean, safe, organized, and ready for exceptional member experienceDaily Operations & Facility UpkeepOpen and close the Family Barn following established checklists, ensuring all recreation areas are member readyMaintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of member spaces including the Bowling Alley, Billiards, Game Room, Art Loft, Theater, Kids’ Corral, and GymEnsure all TVs, music systems, and lighting are turned on and set appropriately for the day’s activitiesMonitor facility usage and record accurate daily countsKeep recreation equipment clean, organized, and in good working order (games, balls, skates, bowling shoes, craft supplies, etc.)Assist with basic maintenance, reporting any repairs or replacement needs to the Recreation ManagerSupport Family Barn events by helping with setup, hosting, and teardownWinter Season & Nordic Shed OperationsOversee and organize the Nordic Shed during winter operations, maintaining an inviting and efficient space for membersAssist with fitting, checking out, and collecting Nordic skis, snowshoes, and sledsEnsure all outdoor recreation equipment (skis, poles, boots, snowshoes, sleds, helmets) are clean, dry, and properly stored after each useMaintain accurate inventory of equipment and monitor for damage or replacement needsKeep walkways, shed entryways, and surrounding recreation zones clear of snow and safe for guest accessSupport special winter programs and events such as sledding, snowshoe nights, and winter family gatheringsCommunicate weather and trail updates to the Recreation Manager and members as neededSummer Season Pool Deck & Aquatics SupportAssist the Recreation Manager and Aquatics Coordinator in maintaining the Family Barn Pool DeckWelcome and check in members and guests at the pool entrance, ensuring a friendly and organized experienceHelp maintain pool cleanliness and presentation, including straightening furniture, collecting towels, and keeping the deck free of debrisSupport towel service, pool toy organization, and daily laundering dutiesCollaborate with the lifeguards and food and beverage teams to ensure safety and service consistencyAssist with summer recreation programs, pool games, and family activitiesClean, dry and fold the pool towels in the pool house laundry roomTeamwork & CommunicationWork collaboratively with fellow Ambassadors, Coordinators, and Managers to ensure seamless operations and consistent service deliveryAttend recreation meetings and training courses as scheduledCommunicate effectively about member feedback, maintenance needs, and operational updatesSupport cross-departmental collaboration with Food & Beverage, Folk School and Youth Programs teamsQUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or guest services preferredStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsPositive, proactive, and team-oriented attitudeComfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditionsAbility to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused in a busy guest-facing environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and move between indoor and outdoor recreation spacesMust be able to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 25 lbsComfortable working outdoors in winter conditionsWAGE AND BENEFITS:Hourly wage of $18-24 /hourOne complementary employee meal per dayMartis Camp gear or uniforms may be provided when required for the positionAmbassador Recognition Activities and EventsWork Tango Recognition and Incentive ProgramsEligibility for Ambassador of the MonthFree Ambassador Golf & Tennis Clinics (when available)Retail Spa and Golf shop discountsScholarship OpportunitiesOther rewards and benefits as listed in the most recent Ambassador Handbook, subject to changePowered by JazzHRVECqN8kEgu
