Software/BI Developer

Job Summary Our client, a leading communications provider, is seeking a Software/BI Developer to join their team! This position is an ongoing contract role, hybrid 4 days a week onsite in St. Louis, Missouri. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and operate ingestion and transformation pipelines into an analytical data lakeModel data and define trustworthy, reusable metrics in a semantic layer; ensure every metric traces to the source of truthDevelop and maintain full-stack data applications that serve metrics directly from the semantic layerDeliver executive- and operator-facing dashboards and reports including monthly/quarterly operational reviewsOwn the platform: containerized deployment (k3s/Helm), highly-available databases (PostgreSQL HA), CI/CD pipelines, release promotion, and post-deploy validationRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)Full stack development experience (modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework + a Python web framework)Strong SQL and Python skills for ELT/ETL pipeline developmentGitHub/GitLab experienceCI/CD experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)BI/dashboarding experience (Tableau or similar tool)Data modeling/semantic-layer experienceRelational database operations experienceData governance fundamentals: RBAC, SSO, PII handling, data cataloging, etc.Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)Familiarity with AI/ML tools (Kiro, Claude, CoPilot, etc.) or agentic use casesExperience as a technical leader/owner of a production platformSemantic-layer specializationWorkflow orchestration (Temporal, Airflow, etc.)Work EnvironmentLocation: St. Louis, MOHybrid, onsite 4 days a weekCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $85,000 - $100,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
