DescriptionJob Title: Freight AnalystStatus: Non-ExemptReports to: Director of Supply Chain / Logistics ManagerSummaryThe Freight Analyst is responsible for analyzing, managing, and optimizing freight spend while ensuring efficient transportation operations. For more information, visit www.martinsupply.com.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze freight invoices, contracts, and shipment data to identify cost savings, billing errors, and optimization opportunitiesAudit freight bills and resolve discrepancies with carriers and third-party logistics providersTrack freight performance metrics including; cost per shipment, on-time delivery, claims, and carrier scorecardsSupport carrier selection, contract negotiations, and rate benchmarkingDevelop and maintain freight dashboards and reporting for leadershipCollaborate with procurement, operations, warehouse, and customer service teams to improve shipping efficiencyIdentify opportunities to consolidate shipments, optimize routes, and improve mode selectionEnsure compliance with freight policies, contracts, and regulatory requirementsSupport freight claims processing and root cause analysisAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and freight spend trackingRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field preferred2–5 years of experience in freight, transportation, logistics, or supply chain analyticsStrong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power BI/Tableau a plus)Experience with TMS systems, ERP platforms, and freight audit tools preferredStrong communication and negotiation skillsHigh attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentKey CompetenciesCost analysis and optimizationData-driven decision makingVendor managementProcess improvement mindsetCross-functional collaborationTime management and organizationPerformance MetricsFreight cost savings achievedInvoice accuracy rateOn-time delivery improvementCarrier performance complianceBudget adherenceWhat Makes Martin DifferentAs a family-owned business, we prioritize our employees' well-being and understand the importance of work-life balance.
