Tool & Die MakerPay: $30.22/hourSchedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday-ThursdayLocation: Winona, MNAbout the RoleOur client is hiring a Tool & Die Maker to join a skilled, tight-knit team. If you are a manual machinist looking for variety, stability, and a place where people genuinely look out for each other, this is worth a serious look.What You'll DoOperate manual lathes and mills to fabricate, modify, and repair tooling, dies, and fixturesRead and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsPerform machine maintenance, rebuilds, and repairsExecute work orders across a variety of machining setupsCollaborate with a veteran team in a fast-paced tool room environmentRequirementsRequired:Hands-on manual machining experienceManual lathe and/or mill operationStrong attention to detail and reliable attendanceWillingness to work any of the three shifts (see schedule below)Preferred:Welding experienceMachine rebuilding or repair backgroundHeat treat experienceTechnical degree or trade certification (helpful, not required)Shift ScheduleThis is a 4-day work week (four 10-hour shifts). There are three shifts:1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Base rate2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM | + $4.00/hr differential3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM | + $4.00/hr differentialHow shift placement works:Weeks 1–6: You start on 1st shift for initial onboardingMonths 2–6: You will train on whichever shift your trainer is available, this may include 2nd or 3rd shiftAfter training: You are placed on whichever shift has an opening, per union seniority rulesImportant: Shift assignments are governed by the union contract. You will not be able to choose your shift after training, and declining your assigned shift is not an option. As your seniority builds over time, your ability to select preferred shifts increases.CompensationStarting wage: $30.22/hrTuition reimbursement up to $5,000/year after 1 year of serviceOur CultureThe Tool Room is a place where people stay — some team members have been here 30 to 46 years.
