This role is ideal for someone with strong machining experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing quality work.Position Overview:The CNC Machine Operator Level 2 is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC lathes and machining equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.This position requires experience reading blueprints, making machine adjustments, inspecting finished parts, and working with conversational controls and G-Code programming.Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipmentOperate CNC lathes including Mazak and Okuma machinesPerform tooling changes, fixture setup, chuck setup, and material loadingRead and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructionsEdit and adjust conversational and G-Code programs as neededMonitor machine performance and make machining parameter adjustmentsConduct first-piece inspections and verify dimensional accuracyUse calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators for quality inspectionsIdentify tool wear, machine malfunctions, and dimensional deviationsPerform preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work areaCollaborate with programmers, supervisors, and team members to minimize downtimeEquipment Experience Preferred:Mazak QT-200 2-Axis Lathe with Mazatrol ControlsOkuma Crown with G-Code programmingOkuma LB3000 and LB15 Live Tooling LathesBar feeders, collet chucks, and multi-axis equipmentConversational controls and CNC programming adjustmentsQualifications:Technical school training or equivalent CNC machining experience preferredPrevious CNC lathe operating experience in manufacturingExperience with Mazatrol and G-Code programming strongly preferredAbility to read mechanical blueprints and technical drawingsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to maintain close tolerances and quality standardsBasic math skills related to machining and measurementsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentCommitment to safety and continuous improvementWhy Join Thern?Established and respected manufacturer with long-term stabilityOpportunity to work with advanced CNC equipmentStrong team-oriented cultureGrowth and advancement opportunities within manufacturing operationsAlternate Titles & Keywords for SEO: CNC Machinist, CNC Lathe Operator, CNC Setup Operator, CNC Programmer Operator, Machining Technician, CNC Operator, Manufacturing Machinist, Okuma Operator, Mazak Operator, G-Code Machinist, Precision Machinist, CNC Production OperatorEEOC Statement: We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
