Job Title: PhlebotomistJob DescriptionThis role requires proficiency in blood collection techniques, including venipuncture and capillary techniques, from patients of all age groups, with a focus on pediatric collections and challenging draws. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety standards and will effectively communicate their importance to colleagues. Additionally, the role involves providing orientation and training for patient service technicians under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques on patients of all ages.Conduct pediatric blood collections and manage difficult draws in medical office buildings.Ensure compliance with safety standards and communicate their importance to staff.Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.Manage a high volume of draws, capable of handling 45-55 outpatient draws or 20-30 inpatient draws within an 8-hour shift.Travel to various Medical Office Building labs throughout South Orange County.Essential SkillsPhlebotomist, Lab Assistant, CPT I certification.Proficient in venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques.Experience in acute or sub-acute settings with infant/neonatal draws.Ability to manage high draw volumes efficiently.Excellent attendance and behavior record.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma.CPT 1 License.Computer proficiency, with experience in lab systems such as Cerner.Customer service skills.Experience with pediatrics.Hospital experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentWork in a high-volume setting in Medical Office Buildings (clinics) with potential transition to the main lab in a hospital. Locations include various draw stations in Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, and more. Flexible work schedule available between 6 AM to 11 PM every day.
