Phlebotomist

Job Title: PhlebotomistJob DescriptionAs a phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients through various procedures, packaging specimens and samples for laboratory testing, and assisting with other lab procedures as needed. You will work under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead, primarily with pediatric patients.ResponsibilitiesReview test orders accurately.Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws.Draw and process samples efficiently.Exhibit proficiency in compliance and safety, effectively communicating their importance to other employees.Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.Essential SkillsProficiency in blood draw and venipuncture.Phlebotomy certification (CPT 1 License).Experience with a lab system such as Cerner.Strong customer service skills.At least six months of experience in an acute or sub-acute setting, preferably one year.Experience with pediatric and infant/neonatal draws.Ability to draw 45-55 patients in an outpatient setting within an 8-hour shift.Ability to draw 20-30 patients in an inpatient setting within an 8-hour shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma.Hospital experience is a plus.Excellent attendance and behavior record.Work EnvironmentThe position requires participation in a FLOAT POOL between CHSB and ST B's. Shifts are varied, including AM, PM, and Graveyard options, with specific hours detailed for each location. The role is on an on-call basis, subject to change in a couple of months, and involves covering for LOAs and vacations. Training includes full-time hours to acclimate to the facility, with potential processing assistance. Scheduling is done four weeks in advance, with training shifts primarily on the NOC shift.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Bernardino, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
