Linux Security EngineerAutomation Engineer – Privileged Access Management (Unix/Linux/AIX)We are seeking an Automation Engineer to support the delivery of automation solutions that streamline and transform privileged access elevation systems. This role will focus on designing, configuring, and deploying automated solutions primarily across Unix, Linux, and AIX operating systems, helping replace manual processes, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen privileged access security practices. This position operates within a hybrid Kanban methodology environment and works closely with the AES Service Owner and cross-functional teams to drive automation initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with the AES Service Owner to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation solutions.Collaborate with customers, service partners, SMEs, and internal teams to gather and define automation requirements.Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts to improve:Server lifecycle managementBusiness process workflowsPrivileged access elevation capabilitiesSystem integrationsEnterprise technology deliveryDesign, program, model, test, and optimize automated systems and workflows.Develop and enhance automation frameworks, standards, and strategies.Apply strong programming and scripting skills to rapidly deliver scalable automation solutions.Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and training materials.Participate in weekly stand-ups and team meetings within a Kanban-based delivery model.Continuously identify process improvement opportunities and cost reduction initiatives.Provide technical mentorship to junior team members, including conducting code reviews.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in a security-focused engineering role with emphasis on *Nix operating systems:UnixLinuxRHELAIXSolarisStrong understanding of operating system fundamentals and administration principles.Hands-on experience with scripting/programming languages such as:BashPythonPowerShellJavaScriptPerlPHPStrong understanding of Privileged Access Management (PAM) and information security principles.Experience automating infrastructure or security-related processes.Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.Preferred QualificationsCISSP certification preferred.Experience working in a Kanban or Agile development environment.Associate degree in Information Technology or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is an automation-focused engineer with strong Unix/Linux expertise and a passion for improving security operations through scripting and process automation.
