Airport Emergency Management Subject Matter Expert

IEM is seeking a full-time Airport Emergency Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our team in enhancing airport emergency preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and regulatory compliance. This role provides specialized expertise to airport clients and contributes to the development of emergency plans, training, exercises, and operational readiness programs.Primary Location:* Live anywhere in the United States- Mainland or Puerto Rico.* Work will be in the field, in an office environment, and from a home/personal office location, and will depend on the needs of the project.Travel Requirements:* This position may require travel to complete work assignments or attend meetings.* Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations or DoD regulations.Essential Functions:Update and refine Airport Emergency Plans (AEPs) and hazard-specific annexes.Develop and deliver training programs for airport firefighters and emergency responders.Lead airport-wide preparedness initiatives, including drills, tabletop exercises, and full-scale exercises.Conduct hazard vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.Develop Airport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) programs, including position manuals and standard operating procedures.Provide emergency management training to airport staff, tenants, and stakeholdersParticipate in airport assessments and creation of disaster response air operations for the possible use of the airport's infrastructure during local and/or regional disasters.Minimum Qualifications:Degree: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field.Experience: 8+ years of experience in aviation operations or a related disciplineExperience managing or supporting an Emergency Operations Center (EOC).Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 (or ability to obtain within 12 months).Strong knowledge of NIMS, ICS, and airport emergency operations.Preferred Qualifications:* Experience working in an airport or transportation environment.* Airport Certified Employee (ACE) or similar professional certification.Additional Location and Travel Information:Office Locations: Office locations are often either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow any rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work on that project.Personal Office / At Home Locations: All personal office / in-home work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purpose of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.Situational Awareness: During site assessments, conditions may be austere including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure and no electricity, heat or air conditioning. Other potential risks include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris and other potential exposures.Physical Requirements: Site assessments may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels and ditches; climbing ladders.Benefits and more:Salary is based on your location and experience level: $95,000 - $105,00010 paid holidaysVacation PaySick Pay401 (K) plan with matchingCompany paid STD and LTDEqual Employment Opportunity.
