Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller

Cherry Bekaert is hiring a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to become a key member of a lean, highimpact finance team. This role reports directly to senior finance leadership and serves as the #2 in accounting, playing a critical role in bringing core accounting work inhouse and strengthening reporting, controls, and systems.If you're someone who enjoys owning the GL, building meaningful reports in Sage Intacct, and partnering closely with leadership, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact and grow into a future Controller role.Act as the #2 in the accounting function, supporting senior finance leadershipMaintain and reconcile the general ledger with a high degree of accuracyPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsBuild and maintain Sage Intacct dashboards, reports, and custom reportingManage and reconcile transactions across multiple systems, including:Vendor invoicesCredit card activityBank depositsIntercompany transactionsUnderstand system integrations and troubleshoot data or connection issuesHandle invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections supportAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirementsProvide support and guidance to other team members as needed MustHaveBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong, handson Sage Intacct experience (required) - including dashboards, reporting, and customizationSolid knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practicesAdvanced Excel skillsAbility to work independently with limited oversightStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills NicetoHaveExperience with Concur, Salesforce, and/or PaylocityBackground in small to midsized or scaling organizationsPrior experience acting in a lead or Assistant Controller capacityExposure to multientity or intercompany accounting
