Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Washington, DC.Overview:The Senior Accountant will support monthly and annual close activities, financial reporting, consolidations, technical accounting research, and operational accounting initiatives. The role will also assist with process optimization, internal controls, and integration activities related to organizational growth and acquisitions.This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is interested in improving processes, leveraging technology, and contributing beyond traditional transactional accounting responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple legal entitiesPrepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reporting deliverablesAssist with multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, eliminations, and allocationsSupport technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAPAssist with revenue recognition, deferred revenue, leases, debt, and other complex accounting areasSupport accounting related to software capitalization, amortization, and impairment analysisAssist with billing, contract review, and related accounting support activitiesInvestigate accounting variances and non-routine transactionsPrepare audit support documentation and assist with external audit requestsHelp strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation* Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar roleStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting principlesExperience supporting month-end close and financial reportingStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel skills
