Success in this role is defined by consistently meeting project goals, fostering strong relationships, and proactively solving challenges to drive the company's growth and purpose forward.Functional Responsibilities* Lead and manage all projects to the target gross profit margin with dependability and a focus on long-term success.* Manage project schedules - drive deadlines, coordinate stakeholders, and proactively address delays with adaptability and composure under pressure.* Maintain strong client relationships - ensure maximum satisfaction through regular check-ins, problem-solving, and solution-oriented communication.* Manage project budgets - track job costs, change orders, and forecasts; conduct monthly reviews with leadership, maintaining detailed records while keeping the big picture in view.* Actively manage jobs to calculated budgets and collaborate cross-functionally to meet financial and operational targets.* Prepare, review, and negotiate change orders and delay claims with a focus on timely, people-centered solutions.* Coordinate project detailing, field drawings, and communications among subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams, fostering teamwork and clear communication across all levels.* Ensure compliance with contractual terms and industry standards (AISC, AWS).* Identify long-lead procurement items and key project milestones early to reduce risk and maintain schedule momentum.* Create and submit accurate billing and supporting documentation.* Respond promptly to both internal and external customers through strong, professional communication.* Document and communicate thoroughly on all aspects of project progress and performance.Key Competencies* Technical understanding of structural and architectural steel work, fabrication, and erection procedures.* Strong time management - ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects across different stages while performing well under pressure.* Effective communication - verbal, written, and digital - with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.* Problem-solving and innovation - identifying challenges early and creating practical, forward-thinking solutions.* Organizational strength - balancing meticulous attention to detail with a strategic view of project goals.* Teamwork and collaboration - working seamlessly across departments and with external partners.* Reliability and adaptability - demonstrating consistent dependability while adjusting quickly to project demands and industry changes.* Embodiment of our core values - with a genuine commitment to our company's purpose and culture.Qualifications* 3-5+ years of experience managing structural or architectural steel projects.* Proven dependability and motivation to take on challenges and drive growth.* Strong understanding of steel construction, fabrication processes, and erection standards.* Skilled in project planning, people management, and change/risk management.* Proficient in reading architectural and structural drawings and specifications (AISC, AWS).* Experienced with budgeting, managing change orders, and financial forecasting.* Knowledge of general construction contracts and subcontractor agreements.* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, Tekla, Foundation, Smartsheet, and Site Docs.* Detail-oriented mindset balanced by the ability to maintain a big-picture focus.Pay range: DOEWe also offer the following benefits:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance401KHoliday payPaid time offCompany Vehicle/Fuel cardGain Sharing
