The results of this record check will be used in the hiring decision for this position.Essential Duties and TasksSupervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.Under the direction of the Summer Camp Head Counselor, the Summer Camp Counselor will be responsible for assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of program activities.Enforces camp rules and ensures safety for all campers.Assist with camp clean up if necessary.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesA good role model and demonstrated leadership in school and/or community activities, self-motivated with interest in community service and working with children, reliable means of transportation to and from camp each day, ability to work with diverse groups of people, particularly peers.RequirementsPhysical Requirements:Must have ability to perceive audio & visual alerts for emergency purposes.Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.Be able to participate in physical activity for various amounts of time. (Walking, outdoor activities, demonstrating game skills, etc.)Minimum Requirements:High School DiplomaValid NC Driver's LicensePrevious Employment experiences as a summer camp counselor, childcare provider, or early childhood educator preferred.Additional Information:Hourly rate will be determined by experience.Please read:*Tentative start date: June 8th, 2026.*Camp Training: June 8th - June 12th, 2026*Camp is scheduled to run from June 15th, 2026 - August 14th, 2026. Counselors will work forty hours a week. Camp hours are from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm.
