DevOps Manager
About this role:
Manager/Team Lead on Gartner’s Application Operations (DevOps) team. Ensure 24x7 availability for critical systems hosted in the cloud and on-premises
Participate in the strategic and tactical planning of the applications and infrastructure; troubleshoot and resolve performance; perform day-to-day administrative tasks.
Manage the implementation, maintenance and enforcement of effective industry standard processes and policies within our QA, DEV and Production environments.
Partner with Architecture teams to provide the best technology recommendations/solutions for business-critical processes.
Involved in the design process with Apps Dev, Cloud Platform, IT Performance, InfoSec teams to implement scalable, reliable and secure solutions.
Experience working with agile teams and DevOps
What you’ll do :
Lead a team of 3-5 engineers responsible for the operations and delivery of our global application platforms at Gartner.
Support talent development, conduct performance reviews and feedback, prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery.
Ensure Gartner’s enterprise application environments are stable, reliable and secure. Meet and exceed SLA's/OLA's.
Manage and consolidate Gartner’s application deployments/infrastructure to drive down costs.
Provide technical leadership to the team to support our application development teams.
Provide status reports to the Sr. Director, VP of Application Services and the GVP of Enterprise Technology Operations.
Maintain Service Levels and department goals for Incident and Problem resolution.
Support automation efforts across DevOps/SRE team utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), micro services based cloud deployments and CI & CD.
Work on container technologies docker [Kubernetes].
Work on Cloud Providers like AWS and Azure.
What you’ll need:
10+ years’ experience in IT application infrastructure and operations with significant experience in AWS, automation and DevOps.
Experience working on deployment, automation, monitoring and operational aspects of Web Applications
Working knowledge of Docker container and related orchestration technologies
Experience with supporting environments running Apache, Tomcat, NGINX, Node.js. .Net and Java/J2EE based applications
Proven hands-on experience in deploying, configuring and maintaining web, java and open source applications on Linux (RHEL, CentOS etc.).
Experience in any of the configuration management tools such as Ansible [Preferred], Puppet, Chef, salt or similar
Knowledge of infra automation and management tools like Terraform, Packer, Vault and Consul.
Must have strong scripting experience (python, shell, groovy etc.)
Ability to detect and troubleshoot technical issues, provide root cause analysis and support Incident Response management.
Experience utilizing tools such as DataDog, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar is desired.
Expertise with architecture design, capacity planning, performance tuning, back-up and recovery, and 24/7 operational support, in a large-scale enterprise environment with high availability
Operational documentation skills for steady-state application support and Disaster Recovery testing
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
Working knowledge of software version control and CI/CD concepts, Incident and Change Management processes
Ability to participate in a rotational on-call support is required
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay: $124,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
