Field Superintendent - Night ShiftThe Field Superintendent - Night Shift is responsible for directing and overseeing all field construction, maintenance, and operations activities during the Night Shift at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. This position ensures that all work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with DOE requirements, ISMS principles, site procedures, and applicable federal regulations. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of field supervision experience in a nuclear, DOE, or similarly complex government contracting environment.What You'll DoDirect and supervise field craft personnel and subcontractors during the Night Shift, ensuring all work activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved work packages, DOE Orders, ISMS requirements, and site procedures.Conduct pre-job briefs, tailgate safety meetings, and post-job reviews for all Night Shift work activities; enforce stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or non-compliant activities are observed.Coordinate with the Day Shift Superintendent, Work Control, Maintenance, Operations, and Safety personnel to maintain schedule continuity, resolve field issues, and communicate Night Shift progress and priorities.Monitor and manage field labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material resources to meet project milestones and minimize schedule risk.Ensure all Night Shift personnel maintain current site access, required training qualifications, badging, and radiological protection requirements in accordance with SRS protocols.Prepare accurate and thorough Night Shift turnover reports, documenting work completed, issues encountered, corrective actions taken, and priorities for the oncoming shift.Support project quality surveillance, inspections, and punch-list activities; ensure nonconformances are identified, documented, and resolved in a timely manner.Perform other duties as assigned in support of project and site operational objectives.What You'll BringRequired Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive field supervision or superintendent experience in nuclear, DOE, heavy industrial, or government construction/maintenance environments.Demonstrated ability to direct multi-craft field crews and subcontractors in a regulated, high-hazard environment.Strong working knowledge of ISMS, work authorization, LOTO, radiation work permits, and federal safety regulations (OSHA 1926/1910).Experience with night shift or 24/7 shift operations in a DOE or nuclear facility setting.Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field.Direct experience at the Savannah River Site or another major DOE facility.Familiarity with DOE contract performance requirements and government client interface expectations.Licenses / CertificationsRequired Licenses/CertificationsMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid Savannah River Site access badge and pass all required DOE background checks and personnel security requirements.Valid U.S. driver license.OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification.Preferred Licenses/CertificationsDOE Q or L Security Clearance.First Aid / CPR certification.Crane or rigging signalperson qualification.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 10 to 40 field craft personnel and subcontractor crews on Night Shift.
