Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition Title Instructor/ArtDivision Vice President Academic Affairs(DIV)Department Art, Humanities, Social Science & Public ServiceJob DescriptionThe primary function of a faculty member of the college is to provide quality instruction for the students by working with them in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related activities to help them develop their interests and abilities to their fullest capacity. Faculty members report to the dean of their division.This position will remain posted until filled, however first consideration will be given to applicants who apply by April 24, 2026.The start date for this position is August 2026. Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for organizing and teaching courses in accordance with the catalog description, course outline and syllabus.Provide students in college courses with a written course outline and syllabus at the beginning of each term.Prepare and deliver lessons that are pedagogically sound and utilize appropriate instructional technology.Schedule regular office hours for advising and consultation with students.Maintain accurate academic records of students and submit required reports to the dean.Participate in the development and evaluations of the progress of learning.Assess and document learning outcomes at the course, program and institutional levels.Develop innovative methods for the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching effectiveness.Recommend textbooks, changes in textbooks, and instructional media and equipment to the dean.Remain current in the scholarship of your discipline and teaching methodology.Other Job FunctionsServe as a faculty advisor as appointed by the appropriate dean.Perform special assigned duties incident to registration.Advise students concerning academic issues and make appropriate referrals when necessary.Serve as a member of faculty committees and attend all faculty meetings in accordance with the faculty contract.Assist the dean with development of short term and long-range planning goals for their discipline and/or program.Assist the dean with orientation, training and mentoring of part-time faculty.Prepare for and participate in lay advisory meetings.Maintain a collegial relationship with others at the college.Participate in professional meetings and community activities.Perform additional duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in teaching discipline; or master’s degree in a related area with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching disciplinePrior college teaching experience required, preferably in a community college settingPreferred QualificationsExperience in typography and printmaking preferredPhysical DemandsFrequent standing/walking or otherwise moving around campusRepetitive hand and finger movementsOccasional lifting up to 10 lbs.Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, twisting, etc.Salary $60,000 (minimum; salary placement to be determined based on eligible experience per the collective bargaining agreement)Schedule Days/Hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, FridayPosting Detail InformationPosting Number F-2023-028-PNumber of Vacancies 1Desired Start Date 08/13/2026Position End Date (if temporary)Job Open Date 03/23/2026Job Close DateOpen Until Filled YesSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsPlease have your resume, cover letter, transcripts, and information for 3 professional references to provide with your application.
