ControllerLocation: Mukilteo, WashingtonWork Arrangement: On-SiteIndustry: Aerospace & Defense ManufacturingCompensation: $140,000–$160,000 + annual bonus Position OverviewAn aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for its manufacturing organization. This position will oversee financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, internal controls, and financial planning. The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership, Corporate Finance, and Operations to improve financial performance and support continued growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience, along with knowledge of government contracting requirements.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility.Manufacturing industry experience required.Strong cost accounting experience required.Aerospace and defense industry experience preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP reporting and financial controls.Experience with SOX compliance and public-company reporting requirements.Knowledge of federal government contracting and related accounting requirements.Experience with DCAA audits, CAS, FAR, and DFARS requirements.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.Experience with ERP systems.Strong leadership, analytical, and cross-functional business partnering skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead accounting and financial operations for the manufacturing organization.Oversee cost accounting, including manufacturing costs, inventory, cost variances, and product profitability.Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate reporting requirements.Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and provide detailed variance analysis.Partner with Operations and leadership to analyze manufacturing performance, costs, margins, and opportunities for improvement.Maintain SOX-compliant internal controls, including documentation, testing, remediation, and ongoing monitoring.Ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, DFARS, and applicable government-contracting requirements.Support DCAA audits, incurred-cost submissions, forward-pricing rate proposals, and related audit inquiries.Identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks and implement appropriate controls and corrective actions.Oversee cash-flow forecasting, working capital, liquidity management, and treasury activities.Lead and develop the accounting and finance team.Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership to support operational improvements and strategic decision-making.EEO Our company is an equal opportunity employer.
