Radiation Oncology Specialist (Hospital-Based Setting)Position SummaryA hospital-based cancer care program in northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology professional to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered cancer treatment. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary oncology team to plan, administer, and monitor radiation therapy treatments.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients with cancer and related conditionsCollaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plansAccurately position patients and operate advanced radiation therapy equipment (e.g., linear accelerators)Monitor patients during treatment and assess for side effects or adverse reactionsEducate patients and families on treatment procedures, expectations, and side-effect managementMaintain detailed and accurate patient treatment records and documentationEnsure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staffParticipate in quality assurance, equipment calibration checks, and process improvement initiativesQualificationsAssociate s or Bachelor s degree in Radiation Therapy or related fieldcertification (e.g., ARRT in Radiation Therapy) preferred/requiredCurrent state licensure (if applicable)Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationStrong knowledge of radiation safety principles and oncology care standardsSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and technical proficiency with medical equipmentExcellent communication and patient care skills, especially in sensitive oncology settingsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical teamCompassion and empathy when working with patients undergoing cancer treatmentWork EnvironmentHospital-based radiation oncology departmentFull-time schedule with planned treatment sessionsDirect patient interaction in both inpatient and outpatient settings
