Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Power BI and Data Engineer Developer to support business intelligence, data reporting, and data engineering initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing and developing Power BI dashboards, building data pipelines, transforming data from multiple sources, and maintaining reliable datasets for business users.The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Power BI, SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data platforms. This person will work closely with business teams, data analysts, finance, operations, and IT teams to deliver accurate and scalable reporting solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPower BI DevelopmentDevelop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and datasets.Create user-friendly dashboards with filters, slicers, drill-throughs, bookmarks, and interactive visuals.Build and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns.Design efficient data models using star schema and reporting best practices.Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service.Configure scheduled refreshes, gateways, workspaces, apps, and user access.Troubleshoot Power BI performance issues and optimize report load times.Work with business users to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.Validate report data against source systems and ensure accuracy.Data EngineeringDevelop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to move and transform data from multiple source systems.Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and transformations.Integrate data from systems such as SQL Server, Snowflake, APIs, flat files, Excel, and other business applications.Design and maintain data warehouse tables, staging tables, and reporting views.Monitor data loads, troubleshoot failures, and ensure timely data refreshes.Perform data cleansing, validation, deduplication, and transformation.Support migration of reports and data processes from legacy systems to modern platforms.Maintain documentation for data flows, business rules, table relationships, and reporting logic.Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in Power BI development.2+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases.Strong knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse concepts.Experience writing complex SQL queries, joins, CTEs, views, and stored procedures.Strong experience with DAX and Power Query/M.Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration processes.Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and performance issues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills and ability to work directly with business users.Preferred SkillsExperience with Snowflake, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, or similar cloud data platforms.Experience with Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, SSIS, CData, or similar integration tools.Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines, incremental refresh, and row-level security.Knowledge of APIs and JSON data extraction.Experience working with finance, HR, marketing, or operational reporting.Understanding of data governance, security, and access control.Experience migrating reports from Excel, Access, or legacy reporting tools to Power BI.Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.Strong documentation and organizational skills.Team-oriented mindset with a focus on business value.Role SummaryThe Power BI and Data Engineer Developer will design, build, and maintain business intelligence dashboards and data pipelines.
