Dole VA Medical Center is seeking to hire an intermittent Licensed Practical Nurse to help serve our Veterans in our Specialty Care Department.The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the Veteran.Duties include but not limited to:Performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team assisting with the delivery of care to patients in the outpatient clinic setting.Provides a full range of services and nursing care to patients who present for or request assistance with a variety of mental, physical and/or behavior problems.As an active member of the multidisciplinary care team this nurse understands the importance of reporting and recording, in the patient's computerized medical record, the care provided, pertinent interaction(s) and communication(s) with patients, family members, professional and supportive personnel.Performs services requiring technical and manual skills and obtains basic patient data, e.g., vital signs, weight, medication review, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the treatment plan, and contributes to evaluation of individualized interventions related to treatment plan.Will aid patients with various disabilities and levels of mobility utilizing appropriate safe patient handling equipment (lifts, slings, etc.). The LPN can recognize and report potential safety hazards and life-threatening emergencies and respond appropriately.Participates in evaluating, planning, and executing interventions in accordance with the concept of good nursing care and per the patient's treatment plan.
