Sales Development Engineer - Eastern US
The Rohde & Schwarz Sales Team Support organization is seeking a Sales Development Engineer (SDE) to serve as a phone-based outreach resource for our Eastern Region Account Manager (AM) teams. This is a front-line hunting role focused on outbound prospecting, lead development, and early-stage qualification. The SDE will conduct targeted outbound prospecting calls, qualify inbound and marketing-generated leads, and convert cold and warm contacts into active sales opportunities that are handed off to Account Managers for progression. This role requires a high-activity, high-intensity mindset, strong commercial instincts, and a technical understanding of RF, digital and power test solutions to effectively engage and qualify customers. Candidates must live in the Eastern half of the US and be reasonably close to a major US airport.Your tasksMake outbound calls to prospects and existing customers within assigned territoriesExecute high-volume outbound call campaigns into target accountsIdentify contacts, projects, and buying signals to discover qualified sales opportunitiesQualify and develop inbound leads and marketing responses - assess fit, timeline, and budget before handing off to the Account ManagerSupport targeted call campaigns tied to new product launches, promotions, trade show follow-up, and service or warranty renewalsRe-engage dormant accounts and cold contacts - find the new person, project, budgetAlign with R&S Account Managers (AMs) on target accounts and priorities. Support related pre-call planning and account research. Execute structured prospecting campaigns against high-priority target accountsActively use CRM to enter contact and call notes, prospecting status, and next steps for the AMExciting insights into Rohde & SchwarzOur colleagues provide insider information about: Daily adventures and challengesOur passionate teamThe technologies behind the innovative projects and solutionsYour qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field3+ years of SDR / inside technical sales experience with strong outbound focus (experience in Test and Measurement or related industry preferred)Proven cold calling and prospecting abilitiesCRM proficient (familiarity with ZoomInfo or LinkedIn Sales Navigator a plus)Hunter mentality with a bias toward action and persistenceCurious and technically inclined - able to quickly understand customer challengesStrong follow-up discipline and ownership of early-stage pipelineComfortable handling rejection while operating in a high-activity, metric-driven environmentHighly self-motivated and results orientedAbility to work independently and in a teamExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to travel 10% of the time in the U.S.US Citizenship requiredInterested?We are looking forward to receiving your application!The total compensation for this position is $96K-$130K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
