The College is dedicated to cultivating leaders who serve and inspire through integrity, creativity, and purpose.Position Overview:Custodians maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness in campus buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and common areas; floor care; trash and recycling removal; minor maintenance; event setup; securing buildings; and seasonal tasks such as sidewalk sweeping and snow removal. The role supports campus operations by collaborating with facilities and other departments and supervising student custodial workers.Essential Functions:Clean assigned dormitories and campus buildings, including restrooms, hallways, lounges, laundry rooms, classrooms, offices, and other areasRemove trash and recycling; vacuum carpets; sweep and mop floors; restock suppliesPrepare buildings for special events and assist with room setups/teardownsPerform minor maintenance duties and report repair needs to the Custodial SupervisorAssist in securing buildings and ensuring safe, hazard-free conditionsParticipate in training on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, product usage, and college policiesSupervise student custodial workers and assist with student summer cleaning crewsCollaborate with other departments to support campus operations and eventsSuggest improvements to custodial operations, service efficiency, and workplace safetyAttend and contribute to team meetings; provide feedback and recommendationsMaintain regular, punctual attendance and a consistent work presenceThe statements contained herein describe the scope of responsibility and essential functions of this position, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
