Production ClerkThe Production Clerk is a versatile, hands-on role that supports food production operations across multiple departments, including Commissary, Bakery, Deli, and Prepared Foods. This position serves as a catch-all production role, assisting with tasks such as food preparation, cooking, baking, packaging, sanitation, and general production support. The role can be taught to individuals with no prior experience and is ideal for candidates interested in learning food production in a fast-paced environment.Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Food Preparation & ProductionPrepare, cook, and bake hot and cold food items according to recipes, production schedules, and safety standards.Assist with baking operations, including mixing, weighing, portioning, and monitoring product quality.Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, grind, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry, and seafood.Measure and weigh ingredients accurately using scales and measuring toolsAssemble ingredients to produce finished or semi-finished productsCarry pans, kettles, luggers, trays, and other food containers to and from workstations, ovens, stoves, coolers, and refrigeratorsPackaging & DistributionPackage, wrap, label, price, and prepare finished goods for storage or distributionStore food products in designated areas, following the First In, First Out (FIFO) principle.Separate, organize, and arrange pallets or products for distribution to stores or departmentsSanitation & SafetyMaintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area at all timesClean and sanitize workstations, equipment, utensils, and production areasWash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and production tools as neededRemove trash and recyclables and maintain waste areasFollow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standardsReport safety hazards, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors promptlyGeneral ResponsibilitiesFollow all Bristol Farms and Lazy Acres policies, procedures, and standards as outlined in the employee handbook.Meet and exceed company standards for food quality, safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.Education and/or ExperienceNo prior experience required; training will be providedPrior food production, kitchen, bakery, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not requiredLanguage SkillsAbility to understand, speak, read, and follow instructions in English or SpanishAbility to read basic recipes, labels, and safety instructionsMathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbersAbility to measure ingredients accurately using standard units of measureReasoning AbilityAbility to follow written, verbal, and demonstrated instructionsAbility to apply common sense to carry out routine production tasksPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeUse hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools, equipment, and controlsReach with hands and arms; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as neededLift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift heavier itemsPerform repetitive motions and physically demanding tasksHave close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentProduction environments may include kitchens, bakeries, commissaries, and refrigerated areas.Employees may regularly work in cold environments (approximately 41F or below)Noise levels may be moderate to loudExposure to heat, cold, moving mechanical parts, and kitchen equipment is commonWhy You'll Love Working at Bristol Farms:Amazing earning potential, paid weekly!A values-based culture that will engage and empower your growth and developmentA strong training program that will build your guest service skillsOpportunity for growth within our family of brandsBenefits available Including medical, dental, vision, and 401KNumerous scholarship opportunities are available to full & part-time team members20% discount at all Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres Natural Market, and New Leaf Community Market locations$60 credit to Shoes for Crews every 6 months of employment
