Payroll/HR Specialist
Dagen is recruiting an HR/Payroll Specialist for a growing Oil & Gas company located in the Energy Corridor.This role will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees across multiple states while ensuring compliance with payroll laws, company policies, and HR best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, experience with multi-state payroll processing, and a solid understanding of HR administration.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees across 10 different states using ADP Workforce NowEnsure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdingsMaintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsReconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll-related issues in a timely mannerManage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, compensation updates, and benefits deductionsSupport HR functions including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and policy complianceAssist with workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leave trackingMaintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll recordsPrepare payroll reports, audits, and supporting documentation as neededPartner with leadership to ensure HR and payroll processes are efficient and compliantSupport year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and auditsStay current on payroll laws, labor regulations, and HR best practicesQualifications5+ years of payroll and/or HR experienceExperience processing multi-state payrollHands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now requiredStrong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirementsExperience processing payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employeesKnowledge of HR processes including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and records managementHigh attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionStrong communication and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsExperience in the oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing, or field services industryKnowledge of multi-location workforce support
