Primaryrole will be to either (1) helpmaintainpark grounds and facilities, and/or(2)staff andenforce rules of the Splashpad. Additionally, all seasonal staff helpprovide support for events,programsand park rental operations. Essential FunctionsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSImportanceTasks1 Responsible for the assigned skilled work needed for the care, maintenance, cleanliness, and safe operations of the City parks, facilities, fields, lands, aquatic facilities, playgrounds, infrastructure, and turf. Landscaping, cleaning, and janitorial duties. 2 Perform the full range of duties in and around the Splashpad, and ensure the safety of Splashpad patrons. Inform patrons of the Splashpad rules and regulations and enforce such rules and regulations in a professional manner. Responsible for online scheduling and reservation system. Ensure the Splashpad and all related facilities are safely maintained and with a high level of cleanliness. Perform janitorial duties daily. 3 Comply with all applicable safety protocols set forth by the CDC, State of Ohio, Franklin County Public Health, and the City of Whitehall. Maintains strict adherence to the operating requirements detailed in Responsible RestartOhio as administered by the Ohio Department of Health. 4Provide assistance and support to City-wide and department events and programs, including set-up and tear down, trash duty, staffing tables or play features, crowd control, and other assigned duties.5Interact with and provide exceptional customer service to park patrons.6Conduct work in all kinds of weather; pleasant, inclement, and hazardous.7Respond to emergency situations as needed involving accidents, debris, or other situations.**Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:Ensure use of proper safety equipment, clothing, and procedures by self and team members. Represent the City in a positive, efficient manner by exercising good judgement in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service. Respond to inquiries from patrons and others, and refer, when necessary to the appropriate staff. Report any malfunction of equipment, hazards, or other problems to supervisor. Periodically test water and check chemical levels throughout Splashpad shifts. Maintain appropriate records. Maintain knowledge of Splashpad and park rules. Participate in organized and on the job training. Cooperatively work with other staff to ensure a professional and enjoyable work environment. Other duties as assigned.SPECIAL EVENT DUTY:AssistancewithCity-wide and department events and programs, including weekend and evening hours, is required. 2026events are scheduled on the following dates: May 23-25 June 5-7 June20 July3-4 July 25 *Dates are subject to changeMinimum RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Must be available to work special event dates in addition to weekend and evening hours as assigned Assigned hours: 24-40 per week. Minimum availability: beginning of May for training through Labor Day Minimum 16 years of ageOtherKnowledge of and skill in:Manual labor required. Manually shovel and move salt, dirt, mulch, snow, etc.; lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs. When working at the Splashpad,employee issubject to frequent contact with wet surfaces, and exposure to pool chemicals. Work requiressufficient physical strengthandabilitytoindependently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
