The Materials Lead takes charge of stockroom operations and ensures completion of day to day functions. Ensures team members are applying Flightstar’s standard operating procedures and system processes. Plans and schedules the materials workload to maximize the effective utilization of employees. Performs routine training, reporting, and communication as directed by the Material Program Supervisor. Helps ensure all stockroom operations are performed in accordance with the customer’s program requirements as well as Federal and State regulations.Job Duties And Responsibilities1Under the direction of the Material Supervisor, lead and instruct stockroom personnel in the performance of day to day materials department functions.2Perform as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide on the job instruction and training to lower level materials personnel regarding materials department work activities, standard operating procedures, operating system, and safety.3Issues hardware and consumables using correct procedures and policies.4Communicates regularly with the Distribution Center, DC Material Supervisors, Materials Manager, Production Coordinators, and Project Managers on part locations and statuses. Monitors the shelf life of dated material to ensure serviceability and compliance with FAA guidelines.5Ensures the stockroom is maintained in a clean, neat, and organized manner.6Ensures the security of the stockroom and the inventory therein is maintained in accordance with company policy and procedures.7Follows up on all inbound/outbound tooling and parts requirements.8Ensures all stockroom personnel are executing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.9Completes required documentation on a timely, thorough, and legible basis as required.10Files documents properly according to company policies and procedures.11Lifts and carries tools and work materials, and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping or reaching overhead.12Follows safety procedures and ensures use of appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed.13Monitors work order lockers and shelves inventory to ensure proper disposition of left over materials.14Monitors transit bin flow between hangars including transactions with allocated stock and AOG part requests.15Accomplishes special projects and assignments per the instruction of the Material Supervisor.16Performs other duties as assigned.Key InteractionsInternalDepartments or Job TitlesPurposeDirect Supervisor or ManagerOpCo Supervisors and ManagersEmployees and Contract employeesExternalBusinesses or OrganizationPurposeCustomersVendorsPosition ProfileRequiredDesiredLevelAcademic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredxLanguagesMust be fluent in spoken and written English.
