Aircraft MechanicWe are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic for a long-term, full-time role focused on modifying, repairing, and maintaining military aircraft. This position specifically involves modifications for weight reductions and avionics equipment upgrades on electronic warfare aircraft. The role is intended for long-term hire with one of the largest defense integrators in the world.ResponsibilitiesRemove, repair, and install aircraft mechanical and powerplant systems.Service aircraft with engine oil and hydraulics.Perform aircraft jacking evolutions.Utilize understanding of engine fuel systems.Setup and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns.Setup and use a torque wrench and common hand tools like wrenches and safety wire pliers.Install and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using various mechanical fasteners.Remove, replace, check out aircraft components and assemblies.Understand hydraulics, including primary, secondary, and emergency systems.Apply comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft engine and mechanical systems aboard the aircraft to resolve technical problems.Familiarity with IETM's, NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.Essential Skills4+ years experience performing O Level maintenance on F18 aircraft.Eligibility for SECRET clearance.Eligibility for Boeing badge.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with F18 or EA18G powerplants, including maintenance performed at Depot or Phase level.Knowledge of modification, heavy/depot experience, and phase experience related to powerplants.Why Work Here?Enjoy working in a stable program with government holidays and the opportunity to support two of the biggest and most reputable government integrators in the world, while contributing to the support of US Navy warfighters.Work EnvironmentWork hours are Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm. The environment includes working in a hangar and occasionally on the flightline, with most activities conducted indoors and not exposed to elements.
