At Old Dominion we are looking for individuals to join the OD Family that will provide innovative solutions and exceed expectations to keep OD the premier transportation solutions provider.Responsible for leading the Field Account Pricing department and establishing appropriate pricing to achieve profitability for Field customers. The Field Pricing Manager will work closely with many cross-functional teams across the organization and will need to translate pricing information to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative leadership skills and the ability to drive change and improvement.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed analysis on account profitability and participate in group analysisManage team workload, accuracy, and prioritization of accountsPartner with Field Sales Directors to negotiate pricing and contractsDevelop relationships with Sales and customersSupport Pricing, Sales, Operations, and other functions within the company on customer profitabilityTrouble shoot system/process errors and develop solutionsParticipate in conference calls and meetings throughout the RFP and Bid processesNegotiate directly with Solutions Specialist, Sales Directors, and Regional VP'sProvide continuous training to employees and ensure metrics are metInteract with senior management and act as liaison between customers and senior management to resolve customer issuesEvaluate current processes, systems and structure and implement changes to improve process efficiencyProject support on an ad-hoc basisJob QualificationsEducation:High school diploma requiredBachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred or equivalent work experienceRequired Experience:5+ years of pricing and profitability experience in the transportation industry; preferably LTLEmployee management experience highly preferredKnowledge of LTL rates including base rates, classes, weight breaks, FAKs, discounts, etc.Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening skillsAbility to deal with different types of personalities and effectively handle high-stress situations in a calm mannerAbility to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectivelyProven negotiation abilitiesProficiency with Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, and WordExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking Days:Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Working Shift:AM / PMWork Days and Shift are estimates and are subject to change, at any given time, based on job scheduling and/or business levels.
