Customer Service Representative
To provide complete Customer Account management pertaining to any and all customer issues including communication of Customer Accounts issues and proactive communication of customer capacity, as well as soliciting freight where needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Enter orders
2. Schedule appointments for entered orders via phone, email, or Customer websites
3. Follow up on loading and delivering of orders / Track & Trace
4. Monitor detention times on pickup and delivery of orders
5. Obtain billing / accessorial information for orders as needed
6. Monitor Customer trailer pools
7. Understand and monitor committed customer lanes and volumes
8. Accept, reject, and update EDI data
9. Visit current and/or potential customers-travel required
10. Track, post and communicate service results
11. Index and image orders and related customer service materials
12. Plan areas to match available freight with available trucks
13. Post available trucks needing covered and loads needing to be brokered
14. Make phone calls necessary to solicit freight or cover available loads
15. Set up Carriers on tracking websites
16. Monitor, call, email, process freight solicitation boards
17. Complete daily checklists and turnover ensuring all work is complete
18. Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred and one to two years of related customer service experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of geographical areas across the United States.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400 Innovative Transportation software to process orders and enter data, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and QuickBooks.
Work Environment
Professional atmosphere that will be stressful at times with high inbound call volumes requiring the ability to multi-task. Overnight travel and weekend work may be required.
