This position reports to the Director of Student Success.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing a federal grant program and overseeing the comprehensive provision of services to eligible student participants. These services encompass advising, counseling, tutoring, leadership development, and various educational experiences, all aimed at enhancing student retention through graduation. This role involves supervising staff and student employees, managing program data, preparing the annual report, and administering the annual budget in strict adherence to federal grant guidelines and both University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Universities of Wisconsin System policies and procedures.Due to the grant funding contingency, this academic staff appointment will be reviewed annually for renewal.RESPONSIBILITIESAdminister the TRIO SSS program* Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, training, supervising, evaluating conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.* Schedule logistics and secure resources for program activities to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications.* Develop and monitor program budget and approve program expenditures.* Implement and revise SSS policies and procedures including recruiting and selecting students, programs and services, administrative procedures, budget, and evaluation.* Identify workflow needs, contribute to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocate resources, and implement new or revised operational policies and procedures* Represent the program to university leadership, Department of Education (ED) and other outside agencies, university and wider UW System community* Prepare and submit an Annual Performance Report to ED.* Lead the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies.* Contribute to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.* Serve on relevant committees, and in meetings and communications with faculty and staff.* Collaborate with UWRF's Upward Bound, Falcon Links, and Aspire Programs.Provide advising and overall support to program participants* Implement strategies to support students at academic risk, who are first generation, low-income, and disabled.* Serve as Academic Adviser to 10% of SSS scholars.Assess and evaluate the SSS program's effectiveness (formative and summative)* Plan, implement, execute, and evaluate existing strategies and objectives for the program and make recommendations to Division leadership for program or function enhancement.* Modify programs as needed to meet objectives.* Engage in professional development and ensure SSS staff does as well.Other duties as assigned.Key Job Responsibilities:May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expendituresPlans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancementLeads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agenciesSchedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specificationsMay exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employeesContributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsorsIdentifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and proceduresDepartment: Student SuccessRequired Qualifications* At least three years of experience in higher education with experience and knowledge of student assessment related to academic achievement.* At least two years of experience as a supervisor of at least one full-time person.* Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage program operating budget while aligning program objectives and financial sustainability. Direct the development, implementation, and management of the program's annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with program objectives and financial sustainability* Significant experience working with students at academic risk, who are first generation, low-income, or disabled.* Experience in designing, managing, or implementing support services for students described above.* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and faculty.Preferred Qualifications:* Prior experience with TRIO programs or other grant-funded programs.* Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to other underserved student groups.* Grant writing experience.Education:Master's degree in appropriate field such as Education, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field.How to Apply:Applicants are required to apply online.
