Lead Network Engineer

Job Title: Lead Network Engineer Location: 66 5th Ave, New York, NY 10011, United States Type: Contract Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brooklyn, NY. As a Lead Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SolarWinds, possess a minimum CCNA/CCNP certification, and be ready to take on a leadership role. Key Responsibilities: Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable network solutions. Ensure network infrastructure meets performance and security standards. SolarWinds Expertise: Utilize SolarWinds to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance. Implement SolarWinds best practices for effective network management. Troubleshooting and Onsite Support: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for network-related issues. Ready to go onsite as needed for critical troubleshooting and issue resolution. Rotational Shifts: Work in rotational shifts to provide continuous support and ensure 24/7 network availability. Collaborate with team members to manage and distribute workload effectively. Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of network engineers. Provide technical guidance and support to team members. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation. Create and update network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Security Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies to protect the network infrastructure. Stay current with industry best practices and security standards. Rate Negotiation: Negotiate and manage rates for network services and equipment procurement. Qualifications: Minimum CCNA/CCNP certification. Proven experience with SolarWinds for network monitoring and management. Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies. Previous experience in a lead or senior network engineering role. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and leadership abilities. Preferred Additional Skills: Industry certifications such as CCIE or SolarWinds certification. Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.). Experience with network automation and scripting. Knowledge of network virtualization technologies. Additional Requirements: Possession of a car is preferred. Willingness to go onsite for troubleshooting and support as required.
