Adhere to all applicable regulations to provide, safe, reliable, and cost effective operation of the plant to meet processing, permit, and other applicable requirements. This person will also perform various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but not limited to; front end loader, belt press, centrifuge, dredger, spreader box, excavator, terragator, and road tractor.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES1. Monitor and control plant operations in accordance with company policies andplant standard operating procedures2. Maintain records of plant operations including, but not limited to, hourlyoperating data and abnormal operating conditions.3. Ensure that the facility operates within permit compliance, at/above designcapability, and produces high quality product at all timesParticipate and complete training programs within the time frame allottedPerform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe,clean, and efficient operation of the facility to include sweeping, shoveling, andother housekeeping activities6. Enforce and maintain standard safety procedures and maintain clean work areaat all times7. Perform fire guard duty and confined space watchOperate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all timesPerform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destinationTravel from job site to job site or plant to job site. May involve overnight travelClean bio-solids off truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfillKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES1. Ability to recognize operational inconsistencies and hazards in the workplaceand display proper judgment in responding to them2. Ability to read and comprehend instructional manuals, instruction sheets,technical data, work orders and mechanical drawings in English3. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the plant fire protection apparatusand systemsAbility to operate all fire protection equipmentThorough knowledge and understanding of occupational hazards connectedwith machine shop and general plant practices with emphasis on the necessityof safety policy compliance6. Ability to work varying shifts, overtime, holidays, on call duty and emergencycall-insCommunication skills - verbal and writtenAbility to operate a computerAbility to perform basic mathEDUCATION/EXPERIENCESHigh School diploma or GED equivalent required.Minimum 2 years' experience as operator or other process plant operations, orequivalent3. Strong mechanical & electrical aptitudeWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. Talking, Hearing, Seeing Sitting, Standing, Walking, Fingering, Kneeling,Crouching, Pushing, and Pulling2. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur insideand out.3. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause worker toshout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.4. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions suchas proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current,working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure tobio-solids.5.
