Metal Stamping Operations Supervisor
A day in this roleYou arrive to a clean, organized production floor and start with a quick huddle. Yesterday’s KPIs are up, but a press needs attention. You coordinate with maintenance, rebalance labor, and keep output on track—without compromising quality or safety. By noon, you’ve coached a new team member on standardized work, reviewed 5S sustainment, and partnered with Quality and Engineering to tighten a process. Before you leave, you finalize production reports, document improvements, and plan tomorrow’s run to hit promise dates.What you’ll doDeliver on production schedules while upholding quality standards and a safety-first culture.Keep equipment running reliably by monitoring performance and coordinating proactive maintenance to reduce downtime.Build capability: train, coach, and evaluate team members to develop a high-performing workforce.Lead safety audits, meetings, and protocol enforcement; model OSHA best practices at all times.Maintain precise production records, reports, and documentation; own the accuracy of data.Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to resolve issues and drive process improvements.Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.What you bring5+ years of experience in steel operations.3+ years in high-velocity production management, including order fulfillment and inventory control.At least 1 year in a formal leadership or management capacity.Strong working knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and shipping practices.Clear, confident communicator; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred).Proven leadership with strengths in problem solving, multitasking, prioritization, and delegation.Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational habits.Demonstrated integrity, reliability, positivity, and approachability.Understanding of OSHA regulations and current safety best practices.Training in Lean Six Sigma or a comparable CI methodology.Core proficienciesPeople leadership and supervisory experienceTime study and production optimizationKaizen and Lean Manufacturing principlesWarehouse and distribution operationsISO 9001 familiarity/implementation experienceERP & MRP systems; inventory management and controlSpanish language capabilityTools and technologiesStamping presses (Minster, Komatsu)ERP software (including SAP)BenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Paid Sick Time, Vacation, and Paid Holidays.
