100% Onsite Monday-Friday in Washington DC We are currently seeking a Law Clerk 1 to support a leading federal agency in Washington D.C. **Required: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.Primary Responsibilities:Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor.Performs complex legal research for the trial staff.Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.Assists attorneys with all phases of litigation.Prepare Table of Contents and Table of AuthoritiesCite checking using Bluebook.Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.Ability to conduct research in applicable statutory, regulatory, and case law.Demonstrated ability to discern the relevant issues in complex fact patterns.Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one (1) year of study or, six (6) years of legal training or experience may be substituted.Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.Role also requires hands-on familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of and experience with Bluebook citations is strongly preferred.Preparation of Table of Contents and Table of Authorities and Cite checkingFamiliarity with the Microsoft suite, including Excel and Word, as well as Adobe Acrobat is essential.Experience with Relativity, valued.Strong analytic, organizational, and writing skills are preferred.Trial experience helpful.Active Public Trust Clearance preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status
