Media Engineer | Onsite (The Woodlands, TX) | Thursday-SaturdayOptomi, in partnership with a pioneering leader in global media technology, is looking for a Media Engineer II.Position Summary: Media Engineers are tasked with transforming the capability and flexibility of content acquisition, production, and distribution on a global scale. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both hardware and software technologies that power consumer-facing linear and digital video/audio content. Engaging in innovative projects that shape industry norms.Experience of the right candidate:3+ years in live media production and distribution environments.Proficiency with microservices, DevOps tools, and design principles.Experience with SMPTE standards and cloud certifications.Knowledge of compression techniques like MPEG2/4, HEVCExperience with Evertz software control systemsAbility to create and interpret AutoCAD drawingsProven troubleshooting skills with IP-based broadcast equipmentNice to Haves:Scripting proficiency (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell)Experience with Nielsen (NACAT), VANC equipmentKnowledge of coordinated receiver decoders and media file formatsResponsibilities of the right candidate:Ensure efficient sustainment, uptime, and stability of technical environments.Troubleshoot and sustain IP-based broadcast equipment and cloud infrastructures.Create, read, and interpret AutoCAD and other technical documentation.Work on system integration projects and preventative engineering.Schedule: Onsite, Thursday–Saturday | The Woodlands, TX
