Staff Air Quality Specialist - Environmental Services (Los Angeles, CA | Brea, CA)

DescriptionBurns & McDonnell's operation in California is looking for a Staff Air Quality Specialist to provide air permitting and compliance services to the power, industrial, commercial, oil & gas and manufacturing industries. This position offers challenging work with significant project variety at a successful, industry-leading company and an opportunity for advancement in a dynamic, growing Air Quality & Noise practice.The Staff Environmental Air Quality Specialist will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:+ Prepare air permit applications, air permitting analyses, site evaluations, noise monitoring and modeling assessments, and other environmental tasks independently with assistance/review by managers.+ Perform air dispersion modeling using Environmental Protection Agency-approved modeling programs such as AERMOD.+ Perform emission calculations and estimates for routine emissions as well as maintenance, startup, and shutdown emissions.+ Prepare and assist with greenhouse gas analyses for our clients.+ Perform environmental compliance and permitting projects, such as Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans as well as facility environmental audits and other compliance activities, as necessary.+ Assist with noise analyses, including noise monitoring, modeling, mitigation design, and analysis.+ Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.+ All other duties as assigned.Qualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Meteorology or related field from an accredited program.+ Minimum 4 years of related professional experience. Prior consulting experience in air quality is preferred.+ Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Title V Permitting, Title VI Ozone Depleting Substances.+ Experience in air quality dispersion models is a plus but not required.+ Must be able to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.+ Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Compensation$95,000.00-145,000.00 YearlyThe expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
