Position Title: Payroll Prevailing Wage SpecialistLocation: Chantilly, VA (On-site)Assignment Type: Permanent HireCompensation: $28/hour - $36/hourWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMBenefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k).Job Description:Our client is seeking a Payroll Prevailing Wage Specialist to join their payroll and accounting team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state prevailing wage regulations, including certified payroll reporting requirements for government-funded construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with certified payroll processes and a strong understanding of prevailing wage laws such as the Davis-Bacon Act.This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance across multiple projects by preparing, reviewing, and submitting certified payroll reports while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.Key Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and submit weekly Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) in compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage regulationsEnsure payroll documentation accurately reflects wage determinations, job classifications, fringe benefits, and project-specific requirementsReview Statements of Compliance, wage and hour records, deduction records, and fringe benefit documentation for completeness and accuracyAudit payroll calculations including gross wages, approved deductions, and net payVerify that all required payroll reporting fields and documentation are completed accurately and submitted on timeResearch and resolve discrepancies related to payroll reporting, including missing payroll submissions or compliance issuesCollaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and compliance agencies to ensure proper documentation and reporting standardsUtilize electronic certified payroll reporting systems and maintain accurate reporting recordsProvide support for additional payroll and administrative tasks as needed Qualifications:Minimum of 2+ years of experience with certified payroll reportingExperience working with prevailing wage laws such as the Davis-Bacon Act and state prevailing wage regulationsStrong understanding of payroll compliance requirements for government-funded construction projectsAbility to interpret wage determinations, project specifications, and regulatory requirementsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and WordExperience with payroll systems or reporting tools preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage strict deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departmentsHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid driver's license with a clean driving record requiredThis is a great opportunity for a payroll professional with certified payroll experience to join a collaborative team supporting large-scale projects while ensuring regulatory compliance and payroll accuracy.EEO Statement:
