Industrial EngineerLocation: Hammond, INWork Authorization: No sponsorship availableAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing operations through process optimization, layout design, labor standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, production, and leadership teams to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost performance across the plant.This position offers hands‑on exposure to plant operations, high‑impact problem solving, and the opportunity to shape how work is performed on the manufacturing floor.What You’ll DoYou will be responsible for a wide range of plant engineering and operational support activities, including:Process & Layout EngineeringDevelop and implement plant layout and production process improvements using AutoCAD (2D)Design and modify workstations, fixtures, and material flow to improve efficiency and ergonomicsAnalyze workflows and monitor operational flow to identify productivity opportunitiesLabor Standards & ProductivityConduct time studies, MOST analysis, and work measurement programsDetermine manpower requirements and optimize labor utilizationUpdate labor routings, operation descriptions, and standard work instructionsCreate labor reduction and productivity improvement plansManufacturing & Continuous ImprovementApply Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve throughputPerform cost analysis to evaluate new products, processes, and equipment investmentsSolve production challenges and support corrective action initiativesAssist with APQP documentation (PFMEA, PFD, SWI) for current and future processesEngineering & Controls SupportSupport control systems, automation, and manufacturing investigationsParticipate in commissioning, validation, and system change control activitiesHelp define system requirements, functional specifications, and engineering standardsSafety, Compliance & QualityEnsure engineering designs and processes comply with applicable regulations (OSHA, NEC, NFPA, GMP)Identify ergonomic risks and implement practical solutionsSupport audits, approvals, and certifications related to manufacturing operationsCollaboration & CommunicationPartner with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teamsPresent data‑driven recommendations to improve productivity and cost efficiencyCommunicate plans and improvements clearly to operators, supervisors, and managementWhat You’ll Bring (Required)3+ years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD, time studies, and data analysisHands‑on experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologiesDegree or diploma in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering disciplineStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑improvement skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, team‑based environmentHigh attention to detail and a commitment to safety and qualityPreferred Requirement Experience in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing environmentsAdvanced labor modeling or MOST certificationExposure to PLC/SCADA systems or automation projectsAPQP and manufacturing launch experienceIf you meet the above qualifications and would like to apply for this position, you may email your up-to-date, professional CV/resume to Tim Dameron @ timothy.dameron@adeccona.com.Perfect placements.
