Principal Electrical Engineer - Solar Asset Management & NERC Compliance Position Type: Direct Hire Lead the reliability and compliance strategy for a growing solar fleet at one of Florida's leading electric and gas utilities. Advantage Technical is recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer, for our client, specializing in solar asset management and NERC compliance for inverter-based resources (IBRs). You'll develop and maintain compliance programs, performance models, and reliability tools that keep solar generation assets operating safely and efficiently within the bulk electric system. What You'll Do:Develop and maintain solar asset models, reliability databases, and performance tracking systemsLead NERC compliance documentation, corrective action plans, and mitigation strategies for solar facilitiesEvaluate equipment and system issues impacting safety, reliability, and regulatory complianceCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and senior engineering teams on troubleshooting, post-event analysis, and capital investment planningCreate and improve procedures, training materials, and standard processes supporting solar reliability and grid performance What You Bring:Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution (Electrical Engineering preferred)12+ years of engineering experience (Principal/Senior Consulting level)Knowledge of inverter-based resources, NERC Reliability Standards, and electric utility operationsExperience with electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systemsPE or FE licensure preferred Ready to power what's next?
