Middle Office Operations - Loans / Bank Debt

A New York hedge fund is seeking a Credit Operations Associate to support its credit trading business, with a specific focus on leveraged loans and distressed debt.This role sits close to the trading desk and focuses on supporting front-office activity across the full trade lifecycle - from trade execution and booking through settlement and ongoing position management. The position works closely with traders, financing, and counterparties, acting as a key link between the front office and infrastructure teams to ensure trades flow smoothly, positions are accurate, and the desk can operate efficiently in fast-moving credit markets.In addition to day-to-day trade support responsibilities, the role will oversee processes, drive operational improvements, and help manage and develop team members as the platform continues to grow. The role offers significant exposure to trading activity, market events, and new transactions, as well as the opportunity to improve processes and help scale a growing platform.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day support to credit trading desks across leveraged loans and distressed debtOversee and manage the trade lifecycle from booking through closing, settlement, and post-settlement lifecycle eventsAct as a primary point of contact for traders, ensuring timely booking, settlement, and resolving issues that could impact P&L or riskSupport primary and secondary loan trading activity, including closings, restructurings, and distressed eventsOversee daily cash and position reconciliations, ensuring breaks are investigated and resolved in a timely mannerCoordinate cash movements and wires related to trade settlements and financing activityLiaise with financing, legal, operations, technology, and external counterparties on trade and position-related mattersSupport new products, trading strategies, system enhancements, and onboarding of new counterpartiesIdentify and implement process improvements to support a growing and increasingly complex trading platformHelp manage workflows, prioritize team responsibilities, and contribute to the development of junior team membersRequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field4 - 10 years of experience in leveraged loan or bank debt operations.Strong understanding of loan market operations (LSTA), credit agreements, and the credit trade lifecycleTechnical and process-improvement mindset, with interest in automation or technologyAbility to work in a fast-paced, front-office aligned environment and manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills and the ability to work closely with trading desks and senior stakeholdersFor more information, please apply with your resume.
