Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes cardiac and stroke diagnoses Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Day/evening patient ratio is 5:1 (with potential stretch to 6–7:1); night ratio is typically 6–7:1 Every other weekend required Floating required within scope to Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units as needed PCTs are available on all units and assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred Hoyer lifts are used on this unit Requirements Active NY RN license required (no pending licenses accepted) Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with peripheral line care/management, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen delivery devices (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks) Familiarity with Rapid Response Team protocols and isolation precautions 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible No holiday RTO; all other time-off requests should not exceed 7 days for the assignment All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application Scrub color: any combination of navy and white Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed American Traveler Job ID P-684124.
