Cost Accountant

Sportsman Boats is looking for a Cost Accountant to join the Accounting team! This role will have responsibilities through the entire procure-to-pay process. This is a rare opportunity to gain experience with all facets of material workflow in a manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, excited to collaborate across departments, and not afraid to get their hands dirty when needed!What you will do:Accounts Payable Management:Process vendor invoices through optical character recognition.Work to move invoices through the approval workflow.Ensure timely and accurate payments while maximizing cash discounts.Review vendor account statements to address payment issues.Assist in responding to audit requests.Credit Card Reconciliation:Review and reconcile monthly credit card statements to the general ledger.Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions.Inventory Management and Cost Analysis:Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to resolve receiving issues.Assist in periodic cycle counts, and year end physical inventory.Calculate inventory reserve and analyze for opportunities to reduce slow moving or excess inventory.Research issues related to bill of materials inaccuracies and provide suggestions to Engineering.To be considered you must have:Bachelor's degreeProficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must to succeed in this role.Xlookups, pivot tables, and if statements are used regularly.Basic understanding of accounting principles.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.Why should you consider joining the Sportsman team?We promote from within on a regular and consistent basisEvery employee is offered lean manufacturing and 5s trainingOur employees are treated with respectWe offer quarterly production bonus opportunitiesYou will learn from the best in the industryGreat benefits including 10 days paid time off, insurance, 401k, and more!Sportsman Boats is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer.
