We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.Position SummaryThis is professional work planning and managing a variety of special events, conventions, tradeshows, concerts, and activities. Activities associated with the job include assisting co-workers, other SMPA departments and volunteers with executing SMPA special events. This position also assists show organizers at Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater to successfully plan their event as related to SMPA. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Directly aligning with the venue Mission Statement and Core Values Providing exceptional customer service to stakeholders by responding to requests in a timely and professional mannerAssists with the coordination and preparation of materials and supplies for eventsServes as the primary contact and liaison with venue clientsIdentifies talent and entertainment as needed for events and negotiates fees and contract riders Effectively managing all aspects of the event ticketing process Overseeing, planning, promoting, coordinating, and executing various small and large-scale special events for the facilityDeveloping and monitoring event timelines, securing entertainment & vendors for the events. Working with event staff and stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met Coordinating and supervising work of, and serve as liaison to, vendors, sponsors, and/or other persons related to the implementation of the eventCoordinate, direct, and participate in setup, breakdown, and decoration for all events, including audiovisual equipment, security, and food servicesAssisting with maintaining and controlling inventory of supplies and/or equipment used for eventsProcuring equipment and supplies needed by recommending and orderingProviding post-event evaluation for all events to identify opportunities for improvement of future eventsWorks with Marketing Department to perform a variety of public relations activities related to meetings & eventsSecures details pertaining to event set-ups and schedules and ensures that all arrangements meet the needs of clientsPrepares and maintains event files, records, and related information.Supervises and directs the activities of event workers and volunteersEstablishing relationships and effective agreements with preferred caterersEstablishing relationships and effective agreements with external food & beverage vendorsServing as the Manager-on-Duty (MOD) during all scheduled shiftsAdditional tasks assigned by managementThe Ideal Candidate HasProven success in generating community interest and involvement through non-sporting events such as: concerts (and other amphitheater events), banquets, catered events, business meetings and trade shows Experience in non-sporting events as a consumer, director, or other relevant experienceAction-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiencyKnowledge of event logistics including crowd flow, event lay-outs, electrical, lighting, and sound system requirements, move-in and move-out of equipment, staging, etc.Skill in coordinating and organizing a variety of events and activities and meet established contractual obligationsAbility to prepare and maintain records, files, and related documentation in an organized and accessible mannerMinimum Qualifications5-7 years appropriate experience requiredExcellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skillsTeam player mentalityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent computer skills, including Word, Outlook Excel, and PowerPointWilling to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededPossess current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period of timeBachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferredWorking Conditions And Physical DemandsMust be able to lift 40 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bendWill be required to operate a computerFacility has intermittent noiseJob Posted by ApplicantPro
