QA Automation Engineer III

Assyst is seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer III for a client engagement based in the Austin, Texas area. Candidates must be local to the Austin area, as the program only permits local candidates.The selected candidate will support quality assurance activities for a contract operations application that is part of a broader initiative to modernize and enhance agency contract management, monitoring, compliance, and reporting capabilities. This role is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining both automated and manual test solutions to ensure application quality and performance in an Agile environment.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation frameworks such as Playwright, hands-on experience with manual and automated testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively across development, testing, UAT, and production support teams.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation technologiesCreate and maintain manual and automated QA test scriptsPerform manual testing activities as requiredDevelop automated test execution schedules and generate required QA reportsTrack and document test execution results and defect statusUse Jira and related tools to log, monitor, and manage defectsDevelop and maintain requirements traceability matricesPerform performance testing and support overall application quality initiativesConduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance standards are metCollaborate with development and project teams within an Agile/Scrum environmentSupport testing activities across development, QA, UAT, and production environmentsTroubleshoot failed test cases and provide issue resolution supportLead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities when requiredParticipate in on-call support activities as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsExperience with manual test script executionExperience in automated QA testingExperience creating and maintaining QA test scriptsExperience with performance testingExperience generating QA automated test case reportsExperience working in Agile and Scrum environmentsExperience using Jira, XRay, or Zephyr for defect and test managementExperience with accessibility testingASSYST is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
