Overheard Transmission line Instructor

Job Description Utilitrain is seeking an experienced Overhead Transmission Instructor to train the next generation of electrical utility professionals. Must be a seasoned transmission Journeyman with a positive attitude.The instructor should be well versed on new transmission construction. The ideal candidate brings strong classroom and field experience, leadership, and a passion for training future lineworkers. Location: Elkton, MD (Relocation Required - Assistance provided for the right candidate) Primary ResponsibilitiesInstruct students in overhead transmission linework, including new transmission construction standards, rebuilds, and work on existing energized and de-energized transmission systemsTeach proper use of transmission tooling, equipment, and safety proceduresDeliver instruction in both classroom and field-based training on the following:Basic ElectricityTransmission GroundingRigging-Weights and TensionsTransmission Electrical SystemsClimbing Instructions-Wood Poles/Steel TowersTransmission Digger Derrick/Bucket Truck OperationsHook LaddersConductor Pullers/TensionersTower/Pole/Bucket RescuesDemonstrate best practices using hands-on instructionPrepare students for entry-level employment with electric utilities and transmission contractorsEvaluate and test student performance, skill development, and safety awarenessProvide informative feedback to support student growthUphold industry safety standards, professionalism, and work ethic Qualifications & ExperienceSignificant practical experience with distribution and transmission voltages, substations and undergroundThe ideal candidate will bring experience or demonstrated competency with Rubber Gloving, Live Line, Hot sticking, Bare hand, and temporary GroundingExperience working from structures and bucketsExperience providing training to other linemenAbility to travel up to 70% and work remotelyFlexibility required for travel to various locations.
